About the Author
C.S. Lewis was a professor of medieval and Renaissance literature at Oxford and Cambridge universities who wrote more than thirty books in his lifetime, including The Screwtape Letters, The Chronicles of Narnia, and Mere Christianity. He died in 1963.

A masterpiece and a "must read!"

I have always loved these books by CS Lewis; his Space Trilogy is largely unknown among his other works. But here is sweet music, and medicine for our souls. Through the gift of great story he's taught us so much about God and humanity, our place in the universe, our relationship to creation, what it means to be a man and woman.
I think in this age of post modern scientific reductionism where we've become so myopic and so enthralled by the work of our hands and splintered into a feverish pace of activity and distraction, these books are a masterpiece and a reminder of what it really means to be human. Of what this life is meant to be all about. I really believe this Space Trilogy is one of CS Lewis's greatest works. It needs to be rediscovered!

A rambling story ruined by poor Kindle editing.

This is the final episode of C S Lewis' trilogy of Space / theology fantasy stories. While I found the tale compelling reading there were too many long and drawn out passages where Lewis devoted multiple laboured pages to making some seemingly profound statement that could gave been clearly spelled out in one or two paragraphs. My chief issue is not with the plot, theme or genre but rather the insultingly careless conversion of the book from print to Kindle format. It appears that the conversion has been done using OCR software (text scanning and conversion) that has dismally failed to give a true copy of the original printed text. Errors in the Kindle version are everywhere and it seems clear that no human poste conversion checking has taken place. The only positive was that the kindle version was comparatively cheap.

Wonderful depth and detail

A great book. If you've read "The Abolition of Man" this is a great insight into the ideas covered there. It speaks to the push for modernity prevalent in the postwar UK, but resonates just as well today.
